Chapter History

The ladies of Rho Omega Omega Chapter have been on the move providing new and exciting events for the citizens of Sampson and surrounding counties. Our focus as hard working pillars of the community has been on our youth and their success. Rho Omega Omega has hosted many civic and educational achievement celebrations since 1990. At these, we recognize outstanding students and citizens in our community. We annually award the Rho Omega Omega Chapter scholarship and biennially, debutante scholarship awardees are presented to the public.

The chapter has supported the following community service projects: exposure to historically Black colleges and universities, provision of boxes with school tools for children in Africa, collection of coats, safety-first workshops, organized softball teams, and provisions for the elderly. Rho Omega Omega supports the Voters League, the Relay for Life Race for Cancer, the National Association of Advancement for Colored People (NAACP), Adopt-A-Family, and Habitat for Humanity.

Rho Omega Omega Chapter received the distinctive honor of being the Graduate Chapter of the Year (2007-2008) for the 31-75 membership category, 2009 Five Heartbeats Chapter, 2009 Regional Winner for Platform II Economic Keys of Success. In 2012, the chapter, received awards for Chapter Reclamation, and Educational Achievement Foundation (EAF) Gold Level Status recognition. We have hosted several new programs and more are yet to come under the administration of current president, Nicole Edwards.
